Breakfast tacos are not any different from what you’re used to as they can be filled with endless ingredients. However, you may notice that they’re super soft and not crunchy and expect potato or egg fillings. It’s almost impossible to find bad taco in Austin, so don’t buy with that mentality of spending more for quality. Tacos is just tacos in Austin, and it is special and unique in every way. So price is tagged based on where you buy, not quality.

Learn a little about Austin’s Culture and History

Once you’re full, start your day by exploring the heart of Austin. You can take a free tour at the State Capitol, where you will see the legislative chambers and historical artifacts. Even if you’re not a culture or history fanatic, learning a few things about Austin’s History won’t hurt. Just across the street, you can visit the Texas Governor’s mansion, an executive residence west of Mississippi. There is also a free guided tour between Wednesday and Friday afternoon.

If you have time, stroll the Congress Avenue to the Mexico-Arte Museum, where you will learn a little History and contemporary Latino and Mexican art—Mexican heritage is the foundation of Texas. Next, head to the ‘Museum of the weird’, which is also around the corner. Here you will find a wide range of curios & oddities from cyclops pig to bigfoot and shrunken heads and if everything seems too wired, break for lunch.

Don’t underestimate food trucks in Austin

Food trucks are all over Austin, you don’t need to struggle to find them, and they serve some of the best foods in Austin. It’s almost impossible to mention Austin without mentioning bats, especially between April and October when they show up. Austin is home to 1.5 million bats that live under the Congress Bridge. These phenomenal creatures put on a nightly show during the warm months and are part of Austin’s identity all over the world–something you may not want to miss. If you are going to be staying for a few days in Austin, be sure to take a trip and observe the most significant urban bat colony take the sky at dusk from this April.

The result is a stunning display as they fly up and down beneath the bridge in stylish formations as they dine on grasshoppers, mosquitoes, moths, and other flying insects. You can enjoy your view from different angles like from the bridge or the boats. Just feel free to find a nice spot for a spectacular view.

After watching an unusual magnificent site at the Congress Avenue Bridge, head back to South Congress to the famous local institution—the continental club—to listen to some good music. Every night is always a surprise because you will never know what kind of music will play on any particular night. The club flows with rock, jazz & blues, Country, Local bands, or even someone shows up for a live show. You can never really tell what’s cooking until you get there. But one thing you should be sure to get—Have a good time.
